An about average restaurant, food was unspectacular, prices decent, service decent.
Good food and ambience.... Parking a little troublesome but you can use the premier Inn car parking spaces, provided you give your reg plate to premier Inn reception.
We came here because we got a 40% off voucher in the post. The place is well kept (if unimaginative)and most things on the menu are standard pub fare. What really saved my meal was the dessert-- lemon and clementine cheesecake with red berries. It was delightfully sweet and tart. I was not too impressed with my main (the chicken escalope). It could have used a bit more bacon and cheese. However our server was very friendly and prompt, and my dining companion adored his burger. I think next time I'll try something else on the menu.
The steaks we had were chewy and horrid but we didn't complain however when the ice cream sundaes came out with virtually no ice cream we did complain and the waitress just argued with us. She said the ice cream had melted which wouldn't have surprised me as they took an eternity to come however if it had melted it would have been runny in the bottom of the glass and it wasn't. No apology....just argument. 2nd time i have had really bad food and service and the LAST!!!
Booked for a baby shower late afternoon/early eve on Saturday. The young staff were helpful, although could try to smile! Food was nice although a chicken salad took its time to arrive. Its a nice restaurant though and would go back again
