Very disappointed. I was really looking forward to shopping in Martha V as my daughter is getting married on 1st August this year 2015. I have driven past the shop on numerous occasions and was really impressed with the window displays and how often they were changed. At last I had a great reason to shop there but wanted to time it right with new collections coming in for the time of year I needed an outfit for. Time was an issue with me but thought it would be a good idea to pop in yesterday after I had played tennis in Newmarket although I would be in tennis attire, I could have a good look at styles (as I had no idea what style I wanted) and get some advice from one of the staff who I was confident would be of a very high standard. Well I am sorry to say I could not of been more wrong. I was ignored at first and then a lovely young girl came up to ask if I needed any help and I explained all but also told her that I realised I would not be able to try anything on as I did not have the right attire on. I told her that I would like an orange, peach or orangy/red outfit but that I also liked the navy. She never asked me if I wanted a dress and jacket or just a dress or maybe a skirt and jacket etc. She showed me one outfit on which I said was nice and I asked if they would still be getting any colours that I asked for in the near future and she replied that they get stock delivered regularly and that was all she said and walked away. I would of loved more help and advice and also was dumbfounded that I was not encouraged to make an appointment to come back another time to try some different types and colours of outfits on or even ask for my name and telephone number and that they could of contacted me if they had an outfit delivered that they thought I might like. I feel that this is a typical 'DON'T JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER' as I clearly didn't look the part. I did not want to write a bad review but I was still feeling very disappointed this morning in what should of been a lovely experience and I decided to ring the shop to let them know my feelings, however when I rang there was no manager or no owner available until next Wednesday, so sorry Martha V I think you should be aware of your staff misjudging your potential clients and hopefully this won't happen to another Mother of the bride or indeed any other person looking for an outfit for that very special occasion and ruining it for them.
