What the hell is this church doing?"Cancel the Cruel Sheep Racing Event to be held at #StMarysChurch, #Woodditton on 9th July 2017#Sheep, who are timid, nervous and easily frightened, will be made to race and jump along a race course, in the heat, with a teddy bear tied to their back, while a noisy crowd shout and cheer. This must be TERRIFYING for them. There will also be a BBQ so they will also be able to smell the dead flesh of their fellow creatures being cooked. #Animals are not ours to be used as entertainment."
Church is kept locked but several keyholders are listed. Some medieval graffiti and pew ends are of interest. Check the graves (near west end of the church) for William Simonds (the one with the grille at the top) and read the epitaph!
